Tourism is the proposal most commonly suggested when meeting with people from the Lekwa area. Very little has been done in this regard and no co-ordinating body exists, which is essential for the effective development of an enterprise such as this.

Although many mention tourism as an option for this region there are no plans in place or any formal initiatives on the table.

Given the fact that a large number of holiday makers pass through Lekwa in holiday seasons the potential does exist. It will require the development of a specific tour route with diverse features and the incorporation of a number of surrounding communities to make the venture viable.
